My family came to the Central Valley from Jalisco, Mexico in search of a better life. My parents inspired me to go to college and take the baton, so to speak, and better myself. I was the first of my family to graduate from college. I attended Porterville College and Fresno State. I had plans of becoming a lawyer, but I fell in love with teaching young people.

My life currently revolves around my two little girls and my wife. Both of my girls attend Summit Charter Academy Mathew. My wife works as a health inspector supervisor for Tulare County Health.

As a family we love to travel whenever the opportunity arises. As a family we have visited Hawai’i on several occasions (Oahu, Kauai, and the Big Island). We have also visited Cancun and Cozumel. In the United States we have made it a goal to try to visit as many National Parks as we can. To date we have visited Bryce Canyon, Zion, Arches, Monte Verde, and Yellowstone.

As a teacher I believe that I must continue to learn. I regularly attend conferences to better my craft.
